I've chanted Super Slav repeatedly home and away as it's part of supporting the team. I've never chanted Bilic Out and for that matter never chanted anything about WalrusFace when he was here.

But I still want Bilic out as it is my opinion that he's not good enough. And many STHs around me think the same. It's not only on WHO.

I don't think we can hold it against Willtell for not knowing who John Lyall was, he was a QPR fan at the time Lyall was West Ham manager.

Re: Bilic in
It shouldn't really be about whether you like the manage or not. My loyalty will always be about West Ham Utd and I want the best we can get, not the nicest. Also loyalty is a two way Street. If we had just had another excellent season and Manchester Utd had come calling, how loyal would he have been to us. I seem to remember him not passing the loyalty test as a player, in fact he couldn't get out quick enough.

Will tell

Don't feel sorry for the fans, as I suspect most of us are happy with the good bloke who is honest and truly cares for the club and particularly the fans, which is why there has been no Bilic out campaign at matches. It seems most are willing to support him and are patient with him.

Re: Bilic in
It is irrelevant if he is cheap or not.
The important thing is he is a good manager that sets the team up to go play the kind of attacking entertaining football I (we?) want at West Ham.
On top of that I expect that after last year, we will get the signings more or less right, have a good pre-season, improve fitness and with Bilic have a bloody good season that will secure him a new contract.
Does not play to your agenda of getting Bilic sacked and I guess you will be hoping it all goes shit.

And yes Fifth Column he does try and has achived it for peiods in most games, not sure how you miss it?

Thanks for that bruuuno. My hobby is suffering brain-dead wankers on WHO...

I have known who John Lyall is for most of my life as it happens. You should try and remember the correct details and not the accusations of wankers like yourself pal...

Re: Bilic in
No Coffee not certain. I'm sure it was reported that he was getting half the wages that BFS was getting when he joined. I also remember DS saying that Bilic was not motivated by money.

Even if Bilic is on the same salary that BFS had, (£3m) to sack him would cost higher compensation. I cannot imagine that DS hasn't worked out the cost implications of getting rid of Bilic and his team and how much to replace them would be...

For me I assume that Bilic is getting the final year in the hope by DS that he improves with better players added to the squad. Don't worry. BFS may well still be available by next Christmas...

Do we actually know - really know - what Bilic's salary is?

Willtell 11:49 Sun May 28
Re: Bilic in
£1.5m pa salary is cheap for a PL manager especially as BFS was on £3m pa + bonuses iirc?

A replacement would be at least £5m and more. Sacking Bilic would have cost WH pay-outs for the whole coaching team and then employing the next manager's team at much higher salaries...

Bilic is the cheap option Coffee.

Re: Bilic in
I disagree 100% with Willtell.

I very much doubt Bilic is cheap, and certainly not as cheap as you're suggesting. He's a decent, competent manager who's working with a moderately decent first team that's often been ravaged by injury and went through the unpleasant Payet saga this season. He's achieved something as a football coach and had a very good first season at West Ham. I fully expect him to enjoy further significant achievements in his future career. With luck, that will be with us.

As for the owners, I'm not their greatest fan - not in a football sense, but because I find it hard to warm to them as individuals. But remember that they would have landed Rafa Benitez had it not been for an impossible to resist offer from Real Madrid. Whether Rafa would have been a good fit for West Ham is another question, but he is certainly in the top league of managers. His appointment would not have been the action of cheapskates.

Realism is as much of an imperative as optimism.

Bilic will try with attacking and entertaining football?

Really?

I haven't noticed much of that this season.

Re: Bilic in
I'd just like to say that I'm happy for Bilic and his team because he's a nice bloke. I'm disappointed for the fans. It shows that our owners really are cheapskates. Bilic is the cheap option. He and his coaches are all "cheap" but will have contracts to next summer.

A new top class manager would cost several millions a year more throughout his whole backroom team. Welcome to the WH London cheapskates with ambitions for CL football - only as long as they are getting a bargain....

Re: Bilic in
Very pleased that Bilic is in
He did well in a ver tiugh year all this crap did not help him and was not all within his control
1) OS first season
2) Payet giving up
3) Crap summer tranfers
4) Above average injuries
5) Top 6 putting the mark even higher and making it even tougher to get points

Next year should be better as we have leant something about transfers and should improve there. Hopefully no discontent arseholes and fewer injuries. after 19 games in the OS that has to be the home form to expect. However, I see the top 6 keeping the standard very high and it will be hard to get points off them, obviously we have to try.

Good thing is Bilic will try and will try with attacking entertaining football
